Today I want to briefly discuss three principles that will not only help your home sell for more money, but quicker as well! We go through a staging consultation and a 75-point photography checklist with our clients to ensure the home is perfect. All that aside, these three principles are the most crucial aspects of selling:
- Make sure the property is clean. The home needs to look immaculate. We often recommend a super deep clean before you list the home in order to take care of some cleaning projects that haven't been done in a while.
- Declutter the home. It's crazy sometimes to take a step back and look at all the stuff you've accumulated over time. If you haven't touched something in the last three years, it's time to donate or trash it. Our job is to market and sell the property, in order for us to do that, we need buyers to walk in and see your home, not your stuff!
- Neutralize. Your home should be easy on the eyes. If you have blue walls and red carpet, buyers aren't going to overlook that. Neutral colors appeal to widest range of buyers, so it's well worth it to replace the carpeting and paint the walls before listing!
It's best to take care of these three things up front so that your home is ready to go once it hits the market. If done right, these three principles will help your home sell fast and for top dollar!
